The institute is not new to me. It has been my raison d’etre for the last 23 years – including the last 3 years as Principal. This period has been a journey of great learning for me. As they say, “One who dares to teach must never cease to learn”. I have learnt not only from my seniors and colleagues, but also from my students and parents, through continuous interactions.
I also have the advantage of having worked closely with my illustrious predecessors – Mr. Shokat and Mr. Shamshad who conceptualized the very idea of establishing this institute; Mr. Shokat responsible for establishing a world-class holistic infrastructure and Mr. Shamshad responsible for creating an international brand. I am committed not only to maintain the impeccable image and highest standards, but also to carry them forward to new heights.
The importance of education in the life of an individual cannot be overstated. It shapes individuals in their formative years and imbues them with values that would govern all their choices in life. It is said ‘If you are planning for a year, sow rice; if you are planning for a decade, plant trees; if you are planning for a lifetime, educate people. Indeed, one can even say that the quality of education will determine the destiny of the nation.
For me, Education does not mean providing answers. It means equipping the pupil with the means to find the answers for himself and within himself. Education empowers students to discover themselves – who they are as people. Within each student is a doctor, an engineer, a teacher, a social activist, a sports person, an environmentalist, a poet, an author or an economist. The teachers support them in channelizing resources vis--a--vis their dreams thus, sustain-ably generating civilized and productive human capital for serving our motherland in line with the RIT Society's motto “Service Before Self”.
Over the years in this institute, I have witnessed in our students an unparalleled knowledge base, a vibrant dynamism, an acute consciousness about the world around them, a focused ambition and a sustained commitment. I am also fortunate to have an experienced and committed team, which has brought the institute to its present stature. I, along with my team of silent workers and dedicated faculty, intend to build on this strong foundation and raise the standards in all spheres, to the zenith. My aim is not only to be an able administrator but also to be a friend, philosopher and guide to students one whom they can count on and trust at all times. I assure you that my doors will always be open to the students and their parents for any suggestion or guidance.
